Ambassadors Group Rwanda Ltd (AGR Ltd) was privileged to participate in two inspiring days at the third edition of SportsBiz Africa, a platform that brings together leaders, entrepreneurs, organisations, and stakeholders shaping the future of sport and sport business across Africa.
When AGR Ltd started its journey in 2020, we did not imagine that one day we would be participating in major platforms discussing the development and future of the sports industry in Africa. Our beginning was driven by a simple concern: many children in Rwanda and across Africa want to play, but they do not always have access to the equipment and opportunities they need.
This is one of the reasons we manufacture footballs, handballs, and volleyballs locally in Rwanda.
But our purpose goes beyond manufacturing sporting equipment. We want every ball we produce to create an opportunity for a child to play, develop their talent, build confidence, learn teamwork, strengthen social skills, and experience the joy of sport.
Our participation in SportsBiz Africa was an important learning opportunity. The conversations, experiences, and connections challenged us to think bigger about the role businesses can play in developing African sport.
For AGR Ltd, business is not only about what we produce or sell; it is about the lives we can transform through what we do.
Sport can create jobs. Sport can develop talent. Sport can strengthen communities. Sport can give children hope and opportunities. And African businesses can play an important role in making this possible.
We leave SportsBiz Africa inspired to do more, to manufacture more sporting equipment in Africa, create more employment opportunities, support grassroots sport, and make quality sporting equipment accessible to more children and communities.
Every ball we manufacture is more than a product. It is an opportunity for a child to play, grow, discover their talent, and dream.
