When JJ Okocha Met Ambassadors Group Rwanda Ltd at SportsBiz Africa Forum

At the recent SportsBiz Africa Forum, a gathering that drew dignitaries, business leaders, and sports innovators from across the continent, we at Ambassadors Group Rwanda Ltd (AGR Ltd) were honored to be part of the conversation on how sports can drive social and economic development in Africa.

The Forum provided a platform where nations and organizations explored how football and sport at large can be powerful tools for youth empowerment, education, and community transformation. For us, it was a special opportunity to share our story of locally made soccer balls, a simple idea with a profound purpose.

Ambassadors Group Rwanda Ltd at SPORTSBIZ AFRICA FORUM

A Memorable Visit from a Legend

Among the many distinguished guests, one moment stood out: when Jay-Jay Okocha, one of Africa’s most celebrated football legends, visited our stand. Known for his dazzling skills and inspirational career, Okocha was curious to hear how AGR Ltd began producing high-quality soccer balls right here in Rwanda.

We shared with him a story that continues to inspire us every day: how young women who graduated from our soccer program are now part of the production team, crafting durable footballs that meet the needs of African pitches. What began as a small dream has grown into a solution that is attracting recognition, not only from football icons like Okocha but also from institutions such as the Ministry of Sports in Botswana and many other partners across the continent.

Balls with a Story and a Purpose
Every ball we make carries more than just stitches and panels, it carries stories of resilience, empowerment, and transformation. For us, making footballs is not just a business; it is a mission. Our goal is clear: to make disciples of Jesus as we make the balls.
Each ball is a symbol of opportunity:
  • Opportunity for young people to play, dream, and grow.
  • Opportunity for local communities to see innovation and job creation in action.
  • Opportunity for the message of hope and purpose in Christ to spread through the beautiful game.
Looking Ahead
The SportsBiz Africa Forum reminded us that sport is more than entertainment; it is a force for development, unity, and hope. To have voices like JJ Okocha acknowledge and affirm our journey is both humbling and motivating.
We left the Forum encouraged and more determined than ever: to keep producing footballs in Rwanda, to keep telling our story, and to keep using

Sport as a tool for transformation in Africa.

Because in every ball we make, there is more than play, there is purpose.

Trainings

Ambassadors Group Rwanda Ltd and FERWAFA trained coaches who support children sponsored by Compassion International.

Thirty-three coaches from Gicumbi District have completed a training program that awarded them the CAF D License certificate. The training was organized by Ambassadors Group Rwanda Ltd in partnership with the Rwanda Football Federation (FERWAFA).

The nine-day program was officially opened in Kigali by Gérard Buscher, Technical Director at FERWAFA. It was facilitated by instructors Rutsindura Antoine and Kwizera Jean Pierre, both of whom are certified coach educators under FERWAFA.

During the closing ceremony, Kanamugire Fidèle, FERWAFA’s Commissioner for Technical and Football Development, praised Ambassadors Group Rwanda Ltd for its contribution to nurturing young talents. He also thanked the churches supported by Compassion International for sending participants, and acknowledged Compassion International Cluster Gicumbi for sponsoring the training.

Kanamugire further commended Ambassadors Group Rwanda Ltd for its idea of producing training materials, including footballs, for the graduates. He stressed that it is not common for coaches to complete a CAF D License course and immediately be given equipment to support their work. He assured Ambassadors Group Rwanda Ltd that FERWAFA will continue partnering with them to train more coaches who will work with young players.

Pastor Seneza Jean Paul, Director of Ambassadors Group Rwanda Ltd, expressed his satisfaction with how the training was conducted and highlighted the expected positive impact on the participants.

He said, “This was a successful program. The coaches we trained were already supporting children in Compassion projects in Gicumbi District. They include 13 women and 20 men who will now work with children in 13 different projects and churches. Our aim was to expand their knowledge so that they can train children at a higher level.”

He added, “We want to raise players who have both talent and values, children who will grow into useful members of society in the future. The values we want them to have must be instilled from an early age.”

Pastor Seneza also noted that although this initiative began in Gicumbi, he believes it will be expanded to other parts of the country where Compassion International operates.

Instructor Rutsindura Antoine said he was impressed with the level of commitment shown by the trainees. “It was beginner-level training, but I saw very motivated beginners who have goals and a vision,” he said.

Graduate coach Habaguhirwa Vincent Jackson reflected on the experience: “We gained valuable knowledge. Before, we only helped children play casually, but now we have the skills to coach them properly in a way that does not compromise our faith.”

Another graduate, Mukansigayehe Françoise, shared her perspective: “I used to think football was just something ordinary, but I have realized that football is taught, and it involves many things we did not know. I learned that football has rules that must be respected. Now we have been sent to put into practice what we learned and see results. My personal goal is to raise children whose talents have not yet been discovered. I am confident that I will continue pursuing higher coaching licenses.”

Ambassadors Group Rwanda Ltd has established itself in football development in Rwanda, currently running three academies: a national-level academy in Nyamagabe District, one in Kibagabaga in Kigali, and another in Kamonyi District launched in July this year.

The organization is affiliated with Ambassadors Football International, a Christian ministry that works with churches to develop children’s talents while teaching the Word of God.

Thirty-three coaches were trained over a period of nine days.
The training was opened by Gérard Buscher, the Technical Director of the Rwanda Football Federation (FERWAFA).
Kanamugire Fidèle, Commissioner for Technical and Football Development at FERWAFA, praised the work of Ambassadors Group Rwanda Ltd and its role in promoting young talent.
The head of Ambassadors Group Rwanda Ltd, Pastor Seneza Jean Paul, encouraged the trained coaches to implement what they had been taught.
The company Ambassadors Group Rwanda Ltd manufactures footballs for use in various categories.
Thirty-three coaches completed the CAF D License training, organized in partnership between Ambassadors Group Rwanda Ltd and FERWAFA, and were given footballs to use in their coaching.

Experiencing the Joy of Football Ministry in Rwanda

Rwanda, the land of a thousand hills ….. and so much more
Dan Money
Chair of Trustees, Ambassadors Football Great Britain
August 2025

Earlier this year, following widowhood and retirement, I embarked on a solo travel to South Africa. That journey stirred in me a desire to continue exploring Africa. Within weeks of returning home, an invitation arrived from Pastor Jean-Paul Seneza in Rwanda, asking for support in running camps, football outreaches, and coaches’ training. We connected—and I have just returned from spending two and a half weeks with him and his team.

I wasn’t sure what to expect, but what I discovered was one of the most welcoming, beautiful, and joy-filled countries I have ever visited. The people of Rwanda go above and beyond to make guests feel not just welcome, but truly part of their family. Staying at Dove Hotel, attached to the ADEPR church headquarters, I experienced warm hospitality and was blessed with passionate, vibrant worship just outside my door.

Football with a Kingdom Vision

The ADEPR church has partnered with Ambassadors Football since 2017 to see lives transformed through Jesus Christ. Under Jean-Paul’s leadership, the ministry has grown remarkably, engaging not only coaches but also senior clergy, government officials, the Rwandan FA, and partners like Chick-fil-A who provide training support.

Ambassadors Football through partnership with churches in Rwanda is now active in 24 districts of the country’s 30 districts , with plans to expand into the last. More than 6,000 children are being reached at the grassroots level, alongside 140 youth league teams and elite academies for both boys and girls. In a nation where grassroots football outside of schools is scarce, Ambassadors Football through the partnership with churches in Rwanda is filling the gap and becoming a model of excellence and respect.

Kingdom Vision

Joy on the Field and in the Word

Visiting the academies, I was deeply moved not only by the quality of coaching but by the joy on the children’s faces, whether playing football, engaging in Bible study, or simply sharing life together. Their passion reminded me that the game is far more than sport; it is a powerful tool for discipleship and community.

The coaches themselves are eager to grow. During my visit, Chick-fil-A facilitated a three-day leadership training, equipping the team with practical tools to strengthen the ministry. Meetings with clergy and local officials reinforced the esteem in which Ambassadors Football is held across Rwanda.

Highlights from the National Camp

A true highlight was the National Camp in Kigali, where winners from the 8 regional tournaments, along with Anglican and Baptist champions, came together. For many children, it was their first trip to the capital. Over three days, they enjoyed coaching, fun games, Bible study, and a tournament.

Even a rain delay turned into a moment of joy as the kids gathered in song and dance until the skies cleared. It was a living picture of teamwork, respect, and unity in Christ.

Building for the Future.

Looking forward, the vision is bold: to establish artificial turf pitches that serve both Ambassadors Football and the wider community, while also generating sustainable income. With guidance from Brian of ForeverLawn in the US, plans are underway for a facility in Kigali, fundraising has already begun.

On the practical side, Rwanda’s landlocked geography makes importing football equipment costly. In response, Ambassadors Football has launched a ball-making enterprise producing hand-stitched, durable balls. This not only ensures “a ball for every child” but also employs 26 people in a rural village, an inspiring blend of ministry and enterprise.

Equipping Coaches Spiritually and Practically

I was also blessed to witness Ambassadors Group Rwanda Ltd working alongside the Rwanda Football Federation to train church-sent coaches. These sessions uniquely integrate football education with spiritual formation, multiplying leaders who can disciple children both on and off the pitch.

A Final Word

As I reflect on my time in Rwanda, what stands out above all is the joy, beauty, and faith of this nation. I feel privileged to have shared life with the Ambassadors Football team and cannot thank them enough for their hospitality.

If you feel stirred to learn more, visit Rwanda, or explore ways to support this growing ministry, I encourage you to connect with Pastor Jean-Paul Seneza at jseneza@ambassadorsfootball.org. You will be inspired.

A Milestone Worth Celebrating: 10 Ambassadors Academy Boys Join FIFA Talent Development Scheme

At Ambassadors Group Rwanda Ltd, we believe in the power of sport to transform lives, shape character, and glorify God through the talents He has given us. Today, we celebrate a milestone that fills our hearts with joy and gratitude: 10 boys from our National Football Academy have been selected at the national level to join FIFA’s Talent Development Scheme (TDS).

This global program is designed to identify, nurture, and develop the best young players with potential to play at the highest levels of football. For our boys, it represents more than just recognition; it is a platform that will sharpen their skills, grow their confidence, and open doors to opportunities beyond borders.

As we reflect on this achievement, we are reminded that each training session, each early morning, and each moment of discipline has been worth it. Watching these young players grow in their abilities is not only a victory for them individually, but also for their families, our coaches, and the entire Ambassadors community.

We extend our gratitude to FIFA, the Rwanda Football Federation, our coaches, and the parents who continually support and invest in these children’s journeys. Above all, we give glory to God, who makes all things possible.

This milestone is just the beginning. We believe that through commitment, mentorship, and faith, these boys, and many more to come, will rise to influence the world of football and beyond.

Together, we celebrate. Together, we dream. Together, we build the next generation.

Fellowship Through Football: Kamonyi Meets Kigali

As the holiday football coaching program came to a close, the best way to celebrate was not only on the pitch but also in fellowship. Ambassadors Kamonyi Academy and Ambassadors Football Kigali Academy came together for a special game that brought joy, competition, and unity among our young players.

Both academies enjoyed playing together, sharing skills, and building friendships that go beyond football. More than just a game, this gathering reminded us of the power of sport to connect people, nurture discipline, and shape character.

We are especially grateful for the strong partnership with parents, whose support makes it possible to develop the talents of our children. Together, we are laying a foundation for future leaders both on and off the field.

During the event, we also took time to recognize the best performer at the national level who has now advanced to secondary school. This recognition was a way to encourage the rest of our players to keep working hard, both in their studies and in football.

At Ambassadors Football, we believe in developing the whole person, mind, body, and spirit, while glorifying God through sport. Bringing our academies together was a reminder that football is more than a game; it is a tool for fellowship, growth, and impact in the lives of the next generation.

Growing Together: Experiential Team-Building for Couples – Best Mutima w’Urugo Norvege – Karama

This past weekend, Best Mutima w’Urugo brought together couples for a memorable team-building activity, designed to strengthen marriages and promote harmony within families. The event was facilitated by Ambassadors Group Rwanda Ltd, who conducted interactive games and exercises based on their well-established expertise in team building and community engagement.

Teamwork Lessons for Marriage

Through a series of engaging and playful activities, couples explored the core values of teamwork as they apply to family life:

Sharing a Common Vision – Learning the importance of setting shared goals and walking in the same direction as a couple.

Knowing the Strength of Your Partner – Appreciating each other’s unique gifts and contributions.

Practicing Gentle Communication – Developing habits of listening with empathy and speaking with kindness.

Carrying Each Other’s Burdens – Supporting one another through challenges and difficulties.

Disagreeing with Respect – Handling Conflicts with Patience and Honor Rather than Division.

Celebrating Each Other’s Wins – Rejoicing in successes, both big and small, as a team.

The games turned these principles into real-life experiences, helping couples laugh, connect, and reflect on how teamwork can transform their relationships.

More Than Just Games

The activities conducted by Ambassadors Group Rwanda Ltd were not only fun but also deeply meaningful. They created opportunities for couples to rediscover unity and purpose in their marriage. By blending lessons from sports, teamwork, and family values, the program offered practical tools for strengthening relationships and building stronger families.

As one couple reflected: “We realized that teamwork in marriage is not just about solving problems—it’s about walking hand in hand with one purpose: to make our marriage work.”

Building Strong Families, Building Strong Communities

This initiative demonstrates how teamwork principles, when applied to marriage, foster healthier families and stronger communities. By serving couples through such activities, Best Mutima w’Urugo and Ambassadors Group Rwanda Ltd are investing in the heart of society, the family

Building the Future of Football in Rwanda: A Partnership of Purpose

In a groundbreaking collaboration, Ambassadors Group Rwanda Ltd and the Rwanda Football Federation (FERWAFA) have launched a nine-day D-License Coaching Training for 33 coaches sponsored by Compassion International Rwanda.

The opening of this training was officiated by the National Technical Director of the Rwanda Football Federation, the Partnership Facilitator of Compassion International in Eleven communities in Gicumbi, sponsored by Compassion International Rwanda / Gicumbi Cluster, and the Managing Director of Ambassadors Group Rwanda Ltd, who also serves as the Africa Director of Ambassadors Football. Their joint presence signified the unity of vision and commitment to see football used as a tool for both professional development and spiritual transformation.

This initiative marks a significant step in shaping the next generation of grassroots football in Rwanda, combining technical development with values that go beyond the pitch.

Transforming Coaches, Transforming Communities

Upon completing the training, the 33 coaches will return to their local churches and communities to work with over 500 children across 11 different communities in Rwanda. These coaches are not only being equipped with technical knowledge but also being empowered to lead with integrity, faith, and vision.

The vision behind this program is clear: to see the lives of both players and coaches transformed through the game of football. The mission is to glorify God with our talents and become positive influencers in the world of sport. By rooting football development in Christian values, Ambassadors Group Rwanda Ltd and FERWAFA are building a framework where coaching is about more than tactics and drills; it is about shaping lives.

Football and Discipleship: Releasing Children from Poverty in Jesus’ Name

At the heart of this initiative lies the powerful motto of Compassion International: “Releasing children from poverty in Jesus’ name.” Poverty is not only a lack of material resources but also the absence of opportunities, hope, and guidance. By combining Compassion’s holistic approach with football, children are given a chance to grow in every dimension of life.

Through sport development, children experience physical growth as they build strength, discipline, and healthy habits. At the same time, the program nurtures spiritual development by grounding both coaches and players in biblical values, pointing them toward Jesus Christ as the true source of transformation. Alongside this, football provides a safe space for emotional development, where children learn teamwork, resilience, self-confidence, and the joy of belonging to a caring community.

This blend of discipleship and football becomes more than just a game, it is a pathway to restoring dignity, hope, and purpose. As coaches disciple children through training sessions and mentorship, they not only release them from cycles of despair but also equip them to live out their God-given potential. In this way, football becomes a living tool of Compassion’s mission: transforming lives and releasing children from poverty in Jesus’ name.

A Milestone for Grassroots Football

This combined effort between Ambassadors Group Rwanda Ltd and FERWAFA is a milestone for grassroots football in Rwanda. It represents a new chapter where football excellence meets holistic transformation. Children will not only learn to play the game better, but they will also grow in character, discipline, teamwork, and faith.

By equipping coaches who are both technically skilled and spiritually grounded, this collaboration ensures that football becomes a tool for hope and opportunity. It bridges the gap between professional football development and community-based discipleship, paving the way for a brighter future for Rwandan children.

Looking Ahead

As this journey begins, the dream is bigger than the game itself. It’s about creating environments where children can dream boldly, discover their God-given potential, and become leaders who influence society positively, both on and off the pitch.

This initiative stands as a powerful example of what happens when sports, faith, and community come together with a shared purpose: to glorify God and transform lives through football.
